Position Overview
The Anesthesiologist at Ambulatory Anesthesia Solutions provides high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical and procedural interventions in ambulatory surgery center settings.
Anesthesiologists practice both independently and within a collaborative anesthesia care team model, working alongside CRNAs, surgeons, nursing staff, and ASC leadership to deliver safe, efficient, and patient-centered care aligned with AAS clinical standards and operational expectations.
This full-time position offers an outstanding work–life balance with a Monday–Friday schedule and no call, no nights, and no weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Provide high-quality anesthesia care in ASC environments
- Perform regional anesthesia procedures with skill and confidence
- Manage airways, hemodynamics, anesthetic depth, and perioperative care
- Provide post-anesthesia care and support patient recovery and discharge readiness
- Respond appropriately to perioperative emergencies
Collaboration & Team Engagement
- Practice autonomously while collaborating effectively within a care team model
- Communicate clearly with CRNAs, surgeons, PACU staff, and ASC leadership
- Support efficient case flow and positive working relationships across facilities
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete anesthesia documentation accurately and in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements
- Comply with AAS clinical protocols, ASC policies, and applicable regulations
- Maintain current credentialing, licensure, and privileging at assigned facilities
Quality, Safety, Professional Improvement
- Maintain a strong focus on patient safety, comfort, and communication
- Support quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
- Adhere to AAS standards for safety, infection control, and risk management
Professionalism & Representation
- Serve as a professional representative of Ambulatory Anesthesia Solutions
- Demonstrate reliability, adaptability, and accountability in ambulatory settings
- Uphold AAS core values in clinical practice and team interactions
Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Completion of an accredited anesthesiology residency
- Demonstrated experience in regional anesthesia
- Active, unrestricted medical license in Michigan
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to practice independently
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in ambulatory surgery center (ASC) or outpatient anesthesia settings
- Comfort practicing in both independent and collaborative care models
- Strong focus on efficiency, patient safety, and operational flow
Physical Work Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual clinical tasks
- Capacity to respond rapidly to emergent clinical situations
- Flexibility to support multiple ASC locations as needed
Compensation & Benefits
- Daily rate (1099 contractor)
