Position Overview
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) at Ambulatory Anesthesia Solutions provides safe, high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical and procedural interventions in ambulatory surgery center settings.
CRNAs practice within a collaborative anesthesia care model, working alongside anesthesiologists, surgeons, nursing staff, and ASC leadership to deliver efficient, patient-centered care aligned with AAS clinical standards, operational expectations, and core values.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Perform comprehensive pre-anesthetic evaluations, including review of medical history, physical examination, and risk assessment
- Develop and implement individualized anesthesia care plans appropriate for ambulatory surgical patients
- Administer general, regional, monitored anesthesia care (MAC), and sedation services as clinically indicated
- Manage airways, hemodynamics, fluid therapy, and anesthetic depth throughout the perioperative period
- Provide post-anesthesia care, including pain management, emergence, and discharge readiness assessment
- Respond appropriately to perioperative emergencies and participate in ACLS-based interventions
Collaboration & Team Engagement
- Work collaboratively with anesthesiologists under the designated care model
- Work independently with surgeons designated by state laws
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, PACU staff, pre-admission testing (PAT) teams, and ASC leadership
- Participate in daily case flow optimization, scheduling efficiency, and turnover improvement efforts
Documentation & Compliance
- Accurately complete anesthesia records, including intraoperative documentation and post-anesthesia notes, in the designated electronic health record (e.g., SIS Epic and Cerner)
- Comply with all AAS clinical protocols, ASC policies, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain current credentialing, licensure, and privileging at assigned facilities
- Quality, Safety & Performance Improvement
- Participate in peer review, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives
- Adhere to AAS standards for patient safety, infection control, and risk management
- Support standardization of anesthesia practices across AAS-supported facilities

Qualifications
- Current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
- Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program
- Active, unrestricted RN and APRN licensure in the state(s) of practice
- National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) certification
- Current ACLS and BLS (PALS as required by facility)
- Eligibility for credentialing and privileging at ambulatory surgery centers
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in ambulatory surgery center (ASC) or outpatient anesthesia settings
- Proficiency with regional anesthesia techniques and ultrasound guidance
- Familiarity with anesthesia information management systems (AIMS), particularly SIS Epic and Cerner
- Strong clinical judgment with an emphasis on efficiency, safety, and patient satisfaction
Physical Work Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks associated with anesthesia delivery
- Capacity to respond rapidly to emergent clinical situations
- Flexibility to adjust schedule based on case volume and operational needs
